Mercy College of Ohio’s spring enrollment is 1199 students, an increase of 88 or 7.9% from spring 2015. The Toledo Campus has 1038 students compared to 985 in 2015, up 5.4%. The Youngstown location has 161 students compared to 126 in 2015, up 27.8%.

The new 2016-2017 FAFSA is here! To begin your application, click Start A New FAFSA. The 2016-2017 IRS Data Retrieval Tool will be available on Feb. 7, 2016. If you have questions about the FSA ID, you can find the answers to frequently asked questions here. If you need assistance logging in with your FSA ID, contact Student Aid at 1-800-557-7394. The Federal Student Aid PIN was replaced with the FSA ID on May 10, 2015. The new FSA ID consists of a user-created username and password to electronically access personal information on Federal Student Aid Web sites, including FAFSA on the Web. You can use your FSA ID immediately to sign your FAFSA, but must wait for the Social Security Administration (SSA) to verify your information before you can use the FSA ID to create a renewal FAFSA, make corrections to your FAFSA, or view your SAR.

Mercy College of Ohio is seeking comments from the public about the college in preparation for its periodic evaluation by its regional accrediting agency. The College will host a Higher Learning Commission site visit team November 2 and 3, 2015. Mercy College of Ohio has been accredited by the Commission since 1995 and has a campus in Toledo, Ohio and a location in Youngstown, Ohio. The team will review the institution’s ongoing ability to meet the Commission’s Criteria for Accreditation.

ArticleMercy College Adjunct Faculty Member Recognized for Volunteerism
Beth Colon, COT was recognized as the 2015 recipient of the Virginia S. Boyce Humanitarian Award by the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO) Education and Research Foundation. The Virginia S. Boyce Humanitarian Award was established in 2000 in honor of Virginia Boyce, CEO of Prevent Blindness from 1972 to 1982, who gave eighteen combined years of devoted volunteer service to JCAHPO and the Foundation. Beth was selected as the 2015 Boyce Award recipient in recognition of her many years of volunteerism. She has worked hard to support eye care technicians locally and also served with enthusiasm in Latin America. She has been a long time member of the Association of Technical Personnel in Ophthalmology and served in leadership roles in Cleveland Ophthalmic Personnel Society. Beth has participated in eight mission trips to El Salvador to provide eye care to villagers in remote areas. She also spent a month in Guatemala working with a local orphanage. We are proud to call Beth a member of the Mercy College of Ohio family.

ArticleMercy College Enrollment Increases to New Record
Mercy College of Ohio President, Susan C. Wajert, PhD, announced fall 2016 enrollment has increased at Mercy College with 1355 students enrolled. This is an overall increase of 9% from fall 2015 and a record enrollment for Mercy College. The Toledo campus enrollment increased by 8% with 1155 students, while the Youngstown enrollment increased 13% with 200 students.

ArticleMercy College Receives Grant from Sisters of Notre Dame
Mercy College of Ohio has been awarded a $5,000 grant from the Congregational Fund Committee of the Sisters of Notre Dame (SND). The grant funds will used to provide immediate assistance of gas and food gift cards to Mercy College students in need.
