Fall 2024 Commencement

Commencement Date: December 13, 2024
Location: The Peristyle at the Toledo Museum of Art, 2445 Monroe St., Toledo, OH 43620
Graduate time of arrival: 4:30 p.m.
The commencement ceremony will be from 6-7:30 p.m.

Important Information

Graduates are asked to dress in appropriate attire under their academic regalia. Business or casual business attire and comfortable shoes are recommended for the event.

Pinning Ceremonies

Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Associate of Applied Science in Nursing Fall 2024 Pinning will be held on December 12, 2024, at 5:30 p.m. at GESU Church, 2049 Parkside Blvd, Toledo, OH 43607.

Students who have questions about their pinning ceremony are encouraged to speak with the program director; all others may contact Barbara Frankforther at Barbara.Frankforther@mercycollege.edu for more information.

Cap and Gown Order Deadline

The deadline to order your Cap and Gown through Jostens is November 1, 2024, to ensure you receive your regalia by the Monday before the Commencement date. Please place your order immediately to avoid late fees.

• Caps and gowns are priced differently per student, depending on the degree you are earning.
• You must purchase the gown that corresponds with your degree. (For example, Bachelor's degree students must purchase the Bachelor's degree package which includes the cap, gown, and hood.)

Instructions for Ordering Your Cap and Gown

1. Go to: jostens.com
2. Click on the link “SHOPMYSCHOOL” and enter Mercy College of Ohio, Toledo. Click on the link for your school.
3. Click on Graduation Caps and Gowns
4. Choose: Student Toledo Campus 2024 Grad
5. Click on either the Certificate or Associate or Bachelor (depending on the certification/degree you are earning or have earned as of the 2024 academic year)
6. Click on the Customize It button
7. Enter your height and weight and click on Next
8. Select the major in which you will be obtaining or have obtained your degree in the 2023 academic year and click on Complete
9. Click on Add to Cart
10. Type in Your First and Last Name and click on Check Out Now
11. Once your order has been successful, you will receive a "Thank You" message and confirmation number. Print this for your records. In the event of an order error, you will need to submit this to Student Records to avoid additional fees.

Applying for Graduation

To apply for graduation you must submit an application for graduation through your EMPOWER ME account. You can access your account at mercycollege.edu/empower.

Students who plan to graduate in the following semesters your applications are due:

*Summer graduates are invited to walk in the Spring Commencement ceremony prior to their final semester.

  At Mercy College to graduate, students must apply for graduation one term prior to completion of coursework in order to obtain their degree or certificate. The following process details how students apply for graduation at the College.

Diploma and Honor Cords

*Diplomas and Honor cords for eligible undergraduates will be provided at the event.
*For those that do not attend the ceremony, diplomas and cords will be mailed out two weeks after the end of the semester.

Students and alumni have the opportunity to order a beautiful custom Mercy College of Ohio diploma frame. These frames are embossed with the Mercy College Seal and will allow you to display your diploma with pride. Build your own custom frame at UniversityFrames.com. Frames are shipped to you directly. Diploma sizes are as follows:

Certificate: 5x7 inches

Associate and Bachelor's: 8x10 inches

Master's: 8.5x11 inches
