Mercy College Enrollment Increases to New Record
Mercy College of Ohio President, Susan C. Wajert, PhD, announced fall 2016 enrollment has increased at Mercy College with 1355 students enrolled. This is an overall increase of 9% from fall 2015 and a record enrollment for Mercy College. The Toledo campus enrollment increased by 8% with 1155 students, while the Youngstown enrollment increased 13% with 200 students.
Dr. Wajert adds, “Despite this being a very challenging time for college enrollment, I had hoped for a modest increase but these numbers surpass anything I anticipated! I’m especially pleased with the growth in the online, Bachelor of Science completion degrees in Healthcare Administration, Nursing and Medical Imaging programs that now have students from 29 states. We have put forth a concerted effort to recruit more Mercy Health employees into these programs and we are beginning to see results. Growth in the healthcare field is expected to continue and Mercy College students are provided with a high-quality education at an affordable price.”
