College Credit Plus Program
Jump to related linksMercy College of Ohio is proud to offer the College Credit Plus (CCP) program to Ohio high school students who are ready to earn college and high school credits at the same time. This program is offered to Ohio residents only at no cost to the students.
College Credit Plus (CCP) is a dual enrollment program that provides students in grades 7-12, that are Ohio residents the opportunity to earn college and high school credits at the same time by taking courses at Mercy College of Ohio.
This program aims to enhance students’ career readiness and postsecondary success while providing a wide variety of options to college-ready students at no or limited costs to students and families.

Taking advantage of Mercy College's CCP program enables students to:
- Save money and time.
- Satisfy high school graduation requirements and earn college credit at the same time.
- Explore career opportunities.
-Mercy College provides healthcare programs and all curriculum is focused toward preparing students for a career in healthcare. Taking CCP courses at Mercy College is a great way to explore many different healthcare career options.
-Small class size allows for individual attention from faculty members. Average class size is 25 students and average class size for science labs is 15 students.
- Courses available both online and in-person.
- All CCP coursework is foundational to Mercy College healthcare programs providing students a head start in their clinical program or other college pursuits upon high school graduation.
Admission Criteria
High School students may be eligible for College Credit Plus at Mercy College if they meet ONE of the following criteria:
- Cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 or higher, OR
- Cumulative high school GPA of 2.75 but less than 3.0 and received an “A” or “B” grade in relevant high school courses (Algebra and Biology)
AND
Obtained minimum threshold scores (see below) according to the Uniform Statewide Standards for Remediation-Free Status.

Application Process
- Complete ‘Intent to Apply’ form provided by your high school and submit to your guidance counselor by April 1.
- Apply at mercycollege.edu/apply
- Submit official school and college transcripts (if applicable):
- Mail to: Mercy College of Ohio, Attn: Admissions, 2221 Madison Ave., Toledo, OH 43604
- Or send electronically to: admissions@mercycollege.edu
- Submit official ACT/SAT scores. If you have not taken the ACT or SAT, students will be required to complete the ALEKS placement assessment program at Mercy College at no cost. Please contact admissions at 419-251-1313 for additional information.
- Complete and return the CCP Mature Content and Permission Slip forms below and return to admissions@mercycollege.edu. We will not be able to move forward with the admission process without these completed forms.

Permission Slip - Upon receiving all required documents and any placement assessment scores, an admission decision will be provided to each applicant via email.
Application Deadlines
- Summer Semester (May-August): April 15
- Fall Semester (August-December): May 15
- Spring Semester (January-April): November 15
Students participating in Mercy's College Credit Plus program are required to complete 15 credit hours of Level I coursework that may apply toward a certificate or degree, before proceeding to Level II courses.

The subject matter of a course enrolled in under the college credit plus program may include mature subject matter or materials, including those of a graphic, explicit, violent, or sexual nature, that will not be modified based upon college credit plus enrollee participation regardless of where course instruction occurs.
Accepted Students Next Steps
Once accepted to Mercy College, students will need to complete the following steps:
- If you have not done so already, Create Your Empower Me! Account. EMPOWER ME! is an online student information system that enables students to access their academic record and financial aid information, register for courses and much more. EMPOWER ME! also gives prospective students access to view their application status.
- Prepare for Academic Advising: CCP students must meet with an academic advisor PRIOR to attending New Student Orientation (NSO).

The date and time will be announced at a later date.
