Mercy College Students Honored by Northwest Ohio Nurses Association (NONA)
Three Mercy College students, Sarah Tarter, ASN program, Katlyn Monday, BSN Prelicensure program, and Whitleigh Wright-McKart, BSN Completion program, were honored with Outstanding Nursing Student awards on April 5 at the NONA spring awards ceremony.

Outside scholarship opportunity - DEADLINE APRIL 15th:
General Award Criteria:
1. Ease situations of financial hardship due to the challenges of single parenting
2. Improve one’s ability to gain quality employment and/or
3. Create a future that better sustains themselves and their dependents
4. We would also hope that the candidate can demonstrate a likely-hood of completing their education (degree or certification in their field of study) by demonstrating:
o An adequate monthly income/support to sustain their household during the term of their educational program
o A plan to cover the remainder of their educational costs
o The academic ability and drive to ensure program completion (3.0 gpa in their course of study)
In addition to the completed application, that includes their Personal Statement, each applicant should submit the following:
Two letters of recommendations
Transcripts from high school and/or any schooling that you have pursued

Jonathan Lehman, a senior BSN student at Mercy College of Ohio, was instantly fascinated when he first learned of 3D printing (also known as rapid prototyping). While it has been around since the 1980s, 3D printing was mostly used by large businesses utilizing commercial 3D printers that can cost more than $100,000. Only recently did 3D printers become available in the form of desktop printers. Jonathan had seen little trinkets made by desktop 3D printers but when he saw a functional mechanical hand prosthetic made almost entirely from a 3D printer, he became captivated.
