A team of Mercy College of Ohio Medical Imaging students—Carol Everett, Julie Robinson, and Lauren Truesdale—earned first place in the inaugural RadX: The First National Case Competition in Radiology Administration, hosted through a collaboration between Agfa Radiology Solutions, the American Healthcare Radiology Administrators (AHRA), and the Cleveland Clinic during the spring semester.

The competition challenged students to step into the role of healthcare imaging leaders, addressing staffing shortages, workplace stress, and operational challenges within a large radiology department. Teams developed leadership strategies to support staff, improve operations, and maintain high-quality patient care during a period of transition.

Dr. Dana Eskins, Program Director of Medical Imaging, said “Carol, Julie, and Lauren successfully applied the knowledge and skills they gained in the classroom to solve a real-world radiology leadership challenge. We are extremely proud of their accomplishment and the way they represented Mercy College.”

The Mercy College team presented its winning case study on July 13 at the AHRA Annual Conference in Orlando, Florida. In addition to the all-expenses-paid trip to the conference, the team shared a $2,000 cash prize.
