The 2018 theme for the NSNA Annual Convention was Nursing: Get Hooked Insight, Inspiration, Ingenuity. Mercy College nursing faculty member Jamie Tooman and current nursing students attended the convention. A variety of learning opportunities were available including focus sessions, best practices panels, NCLEX reviews and discussions, a Red Cross certification workshop, and career discussions. Through these events, all attendees noted the valuable learning experience of the convention and how it will affect their impact at Mercy College and beyond.

Mercy College student Alexandrea Velasquez summed up the convention experience saying, "I was able make connections, gain knowledge, and build lasting relationships with many members and leaders!" Each Mercy College student attendee noted how inspiring the convention was for them. Melissa Hane, Mercy College nursing student, shared, "The biggest impact this convention had on me is the realization of the limitless opportunity our degree provides; our degree from Mercy College is the first step to changing the world, one nurse at a time."
