Mercy College Hosts Spring 2018 Commencement Ceremonies
Spring 2018 commencement ceremonies were held at Mercy College's Toledo and Youngstown campuses.
Toledo Commencement
Mercy College's spring commencement ceremony for the Toledo campus was held at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 3, at the Toledo Museum of Art Peristyle.
213 students were eligible to participate in the commencement ceremony where bachelor’s degrees, associate degrees and credit certificates in nursing and allied health fields will be presented. Many graduates already had secured positions locally.
The Toledo commencement ceremony included a special surprise for Bachelor of Science in Nursing graduate Jennifer Little. Her two sons, Senior Airman Jeff Barsnack and Private First Class Jonathan Barsnack, surprised her at the ceremony during the presentation of her diploma. Jeff is an Aircraft Armament Specialist in the United States Airforce stationed in California and Jonathan is Geospatial Imagery Analyst in United States Army stationed in Georgia. Both sons made arrangements to surprise their mom at her commencement to recognize her hard work and achievement.

Sister Karen Schneider, RSM, MD was the commencement speaker at the Toledo ceremony.
Youngstown Commencement
Mercy College's spring commencement ceremony for the Youngstown location was held Monday, May 7, 2018 at St. Columba Cathedral. 44 students were awarded the Associate of Science in Nursing degree. Lori DeNiro MSN, RN, NE-BC was the commencement speaker at the Youngstown ceremony.
