Representative Marcy Kaptur Visits Mercy College of Ohio
Mercy College hosted Marcy Kaptur, U.S. Representative for Ohio's 9th congressional district at the Toledo campus on November 22, 2016.
Ms. Kaptur toured recently renovated and acquired spaces and learned of Mercy’s record student enrollment. She also discussed the Making the Education of Nurses Dependable for Schools Act or the MEND Act with Mercy College President, Susan Wajert, College Board Member the Honorable Paul Moon, and Director of Advancement, Michael Whalen. The MEND Act will enable hospital-based nursing programs that are affiliated with a hospital to maintain Medicare payments for the costs of such programs. This funding is vital to keep nursing education affordable.
