Associate of Applied Science in Radiologic Technology Admission Requirements

In addition to meeting college admission requirements above, the following Radiologic Technology Program admission requirements must be met:

  • Applicants must be high school graduates with a GPA of at least 2.7 or GED recipients with a score of 570 (score of 57 prior to 2002).
  • Applicants must have completed and passed these high school courses or their college equivalents with a grade of “C” or better within the past seven years:
  • Algebra – one year
  • Biology – one year
  • Chemistry with a lab – one year

Program Selection Criteria

The Radiologic Technology Program admits students through a selective, point-based admission process. To be considered for acceptance, applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7 and earn at least 8 points in the evaluation process. Admission is competitive, and applicants with the highest point totals will be offered seats in the program. Notification of acceptance or alternate status will be sent via the applicant’s Mercy College email account. Please note that meeting the minimum GPA and point requirements does not guarantee admission into the program.

Applicants may earn points based on the following:

  • Grade Point Average (GPA) (Maximum: 13 points)
  • Prerequisite Program Points (Maximum: 12 points)

Grade Point Average (GPA):

  • Applicant’s GPA will be calculated using grades from all completed General Education courses.
  • An applicant’s most recent GPA will be used if currently enrolled in General Education courses.
  • If an applicant does not meet the requirement to be evaluated as a college applicant, (refer to the College Catalog) their high school GPA will be used.

If there is a tie between candidates, the following criteria will be used to determine admission priority:

  1. Highest GPA
  2. Highest total Prerequisite Points
  3. Highest number of GE courses completed
  4. Highest points for grade in Anatomy & Physiology II
  5. Date of Candidacy Form Submission

Deadline date for program admission:

January 31st

Second review for remaining seats:

May 15th

Alternate seats

May 15th- August 1st

  • The Admissions process will continue beyond the deadline date listed if seats are still available.
  • The highest grade achieved for courses taken more than once will be used.

General College Admission Requirements

The following are Mercy College of Ohio admissions requirements. Admission to the College does not guarantee admission to a program. Admission requirements are subject to change. Students should contact the Office of Admissions or consult mercycollege.edu for the most up-to-date information.

One of the following are required for admission to Mercy College of Ohio:

  • An earned diploma from an accredited high school or a home-schooled program in a college preparatory course of study with a cumulative high school grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or higher, OR
  • A general equivalence diploma (GED) recipient with a score of 500 (score of 53 prior to 2002).
  • Additional documentation may be required for College Credit Plus or Non-degree Seeking Students.

Requirements for Clinicals or Professional Practice Experience

Criminal background checks, drug screens, health records, and titers/immunizations are required prior to the start of the clinical program.
