Progress continues on the Dr. Daniel J. Hanson Learning Commons

Construction
Progress continues on the Hanson Learning Commons on the 6th floor of the Jefferson Avenue side of the building. The construction is on pace to have the space ready for use early in the spring semester.

Graduation
The fall commencement ceremonies will take place at the Toledo campus on Thursday, December 19 at the Toledo Museum of Art Peristyle and in Youngstown Friday, December 20, at Basilica of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. There are approximately 195 students eligible to participate in the fall ceremonies.

ODHE Site Visit
Preparation is underway for our January 15-17, 2020 Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE) site visit for the Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) program. Please mark your calendar and contact your vice-president if you have any questions about this visit.

Mercy College Partners with St. Lukes
Mercy College of Ohio now has a signed agreement to offer reduced tuition to employees of St. Luke’s Hospital in Maumee, Ohio for the following online programs:

  • Master of Science in Health Administration, Nursing – Leadership, and Nursing – Education
  • Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration, Medical Imaging and RN to BSN
  • Associate degree in Health Information Technology
  • Certificates in Medical Coding and in Advanced Imaging

Dual Degree Program with Tiffin University
On Monday, November 25 Dr. Trevor Bates, on behalf of Dr. Wajert, and Dr. Lillian Schumacher, President of Tiffin University (TU) signed the dual degree program documents. The dual degree program with Tiffin will begin in the Fall of 2020 and students enrolled in this program will earn a Bachelor of Nursing from Mercy College and a Bachelor of Health Sciences from Tiffin University. RAVE Awareness Week
Toledo – Monday, December 2 and Tuesday, December 3, tables will be set up on the 1st floor Jefferson lobby, with a laptop, so faculty, staff, and students will be able to access their account and check their RAVE alert settings.

Youngstown – Monday, December 2 – Thursday, December 5, the 2nd-floor computer lab will be used for faculty, staff, and students to access their account and check their settings.

Directions will be provided during these times, but they can also be found on the RAVE webpage and on the Mercy Hub. There will be a RAVE test conducted for both the Toledo campus and Youngstown location later in the week, so please make sure you access your RAVE account and check your settings.

Ahh Day for Students

Ahh Day is Coming! Counseling and Wellness Services on Toledo campus is once again offering free massage therapy services to help students unwind during finals week. Therapists will be on campus Monday, December 16 from 9 AM – 3 PM. Students may sign up for 2 different massage sessions including chair massage, reflexology and craniosacral therapy. New this year, the therapists will be set up in the main waiting area of the Counseling offices, Rm. 5718. Students are encouraged to also visit the Relaxation and Sensory Room during this time.
