Schedule a Tutoring Appointment

Our professional tutors, located within the Student Success Center on the first floor of Madison, offer tutoring in nursing, science, math, and English. The tutors provide supplemental instruction and guidance to students in meeting course requirements.

Reminder

When you sign-up it may look like you are signing up for 30 minute blocks; however, once you select tutor as the service, it will automatically make your appointment for one hour. If you select advisor as the service, your appointment will be 30 minutes.

About Scott Hevner, Science and Math Tutor
Mr. Hevner is a professional tutor with a Master of Science degree and more than 15 years of teaching and tutoring experience.

Availability

Mr. Hevner is available for in-person, Zoom, and phone sessions. For current available days and times see his Tutoring Information Flyer on Canvas. Please use our scheduling software Achieve. If you call Mr. Hevner, please leave a voicemail so he knows you are a student, not a robocall, phishing, etc.

Tutoring services are FREE for Mercy College of Ohio students. Some services are noted below (other services are also available).

  • Math-Based Nursing Classes, PAS 510 Basic Science, PAS 520 Pharmacology
  • All Anatomy, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Math and Statistics Courses
  • Reading comprehension, studying, and organizing materials for an exam
  • Instruction on note taking, use of Powerpoint and Excel
  • How to write lab reports and scientific research papers
  • How to analyze data for projects and research papers
  • Bones Table available

The Writing Tutor at Mercy College of Ohio provides free writing support and feedback to all students, staff, and faculty in all programs. During a session, the professional writing tutor engages in conversation with the writer to help achieve the goals of the written work, focusing on ideas, organization, development, argument, synthesis, and writers’ concerns. The purpose of writing sessions is to promote awareness of self and audience through clear and concise writing.

Services

Writing online and on-campus tutoring is available at the Toledo campus. Help is available for anything writing related at any point in the writing process. Types of sessions include:

  • Face-to-face tutoring for individuals or small groups
  • Online tutoring in real time on Canvas Big Blue Button
  • Email feedback on papers (2-5 days turnaround time)
