IPE Disaster Day - Mercy College Toledo campus

| Description | Interprofessional simulation with emphasis on roles/responsibilities, effective communication, interdisciplinary collaboration, and teamwork in a disaster situation. This activity requires specific clinical knowledge of START and JumpSTART algorithms, primary/secondary trauma assessments, Rule of Nine’s, and the Parkland Formula. Students will use critical thinking, prioritization, and delegation to balance the flux of incoming patients during a code yellow. Key concepts include disaster preparedness, response, and mitigation with mass casualty incidents. |
| Location | J3302, J3304, J3407, J3411, Nursing Skills Lab, Boiler Room & Simulation Center. Northview High School students are also participating in this event. They will arrive at 8am by bus to the main lobby, Melissa Cafferty is their med tech teacher. Jordan Shaffer will meet them and take them to J3411. |
