Springboard to a Healthcare Career

With the Springboard to a Healthcare Career badge, students will prepare for their academic journey into health care by completing pre-requisite classes required by most programs.

The Springboard to a Healthcare Career badge offers student the foundational general education courses to begin their academic journey in a chosen healthcare field.

Courses include:

• Math: Placement into math courses is dependent upon transfer credit or ALEKS Assessment scores
  • Intermediate Algebra
  • Mathematical Formulas, Models and Probability
  • College Algebra
• English Composition I
• Anatomy and Physiology I
  • Pre-requisites to this course include Biology and Chemistry within the last 7 years with a C or better
• Psychology: (Choose one)
  • Introduction to Psychology
  • Lifespan Psychology

Note: Course selection will depend on individual student transfer history.

Admission Criteria and Application Process

Admission Criteria

• Applicants must be high school graduates with a GPA of at least 2.3, GED recipients with a score of 530 (score of 53 prior to 2002), or transfer students with a cumulative GPA of a 2.0.

Admission Process

1. Complete the Healthcare Digital Badge Application
2. Submit official high school transcript OR a copy of GED scores and certificate
3. Submit official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended. NOTE: Official transcripts must be sent directly from the institution and can be sent to admissions@mercycollege.edy or mailed to Mercy College of Ohio, ATTN: Admissions, 2221 Madison Ave. Toledo OH 43604.
4. Submit two forms of Identification: One (1) should be a: Valid Driver’s License from any U.S. state or territory, or Valid State ID from any U.S. state or territory AND the other can be any one (1) of the following:

• State Government Issued Certificate of Birth
• Professional Licensure (RN or ARRT)
• Passport from any country
• Social Security card
• Utility Bill
• Voter Registration Card
• Vehicle Registration Card
• Mercy College student ID
• Paycheck Stub with Name and Address
• Cancelled Check or Bank Statement Copies can be scanned and emailed to admissions@mercycollege.edu or mailed to: Mercy College, ATTN: Admissions, 2221 Madison Avenue, Toledo, OH 43604
