Mercy College Student Emergency Fund
Jump to related linksYou are not alone. We’re here to help.
The Mercy College Student Emergency Fund (SEF) is designed to support students who experience unexpected financial emergencies that may interfere with their ability to continue their education. Rooted in Mercy’s Mission and Values, the SEF provides short-term assistance for urgent and unforeseen situations after all other available resources have been explored. Because funding is limited, submitting an application does not guarantee an award. Any funds awarded through the SEF do not need to be repaid.
Students can apply for the fund online here.
To be eligible, students must be currently enrolled at Mercy College in a degree or certificate program and be in good academic standing. Requests must be urgent, unexpected, and directly related to the student’s ability to remain enrolled or maintain the stability necessary for academic success.
The Student Emergency Fund is intended to help cover essential needs only. The fund cannot be used for tuition or fees, books or school supplies normally budgeted for each term, credit card debt or fines, lost wages due to voluntary reductions in work hours, legal fees, or gifts such as birthday or holiday presents.
Once an application is submitted, it is reviewed by the Student Emergency Fund Committee. Applications are evaluated as quickly as possible. Award amounts vary based on the nature of the request, the documentation provided, and the availability of funds. Students will be notified of the committee’s decision through their Mercy College email account.
Students with questions about the Student Emergency Fund are encouraged to contact the Director of Mission, Chalsi Campbell, at chalsi.campbell@mercycollege.edu.
