On behalf of the Division of Academic Affairs, I am proud and excited to share information on ten new and developing academic programs and academic pathways at Mercy College of Ohio!

1. Master of Science in Nursing Education (NEW)

Mercy College of Ohio submitted a Substantive Change Application to the Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE) requesting authorization to offer a Master of Science in Nursing with a focus in Nursing Education. After an initial desk review, the ODHE has determined that we can move forward with submission to the Higher Learning Commission to determine further authorization. The MSN in Nursing Education track will offer students a 36 credit-hour program of study, delivered in a part-time, distance education format. The curriculum includes five foundational courses and four specialty courses in nursing education to prepare nurse educators for a variety of settings. Pending approvals, expected start Fall 2019.

2. Post Master’s Certificate in Nursing Education (NEW)

Mercy College is planning to offer a Post-Master’s Certificate in Nursing Education, consisting of four specialty courses in nursing education (12 credit hours) that will prepare Master’s educated nurses to teach in higher education, or in a healthcare system, and progress toward meeting the eligibility requirements of the National League for Nursing (NLN) organization, to take the Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) examination. Faculty and staff positions were recently posted. Pending approvals, expected start Summer 2021.

5. Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (NEW)

Built on the foundation of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – Pre-licensure program, the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program (ABSN) option (four semesters) prepares graduates for professional nursing practice. 6. Biology major pathways (DEVELOPING)

Development of new program tracks/options and connections are being explored to potentially connect the Biology major with developing and existing programs at Mercy College as well as graduate programs outside of the College. Expected start: under construction, stay tuned!

Need Data? Want to do a Survey?

Submitted by Mary Bergs

If you need data or want to do a survey, start at the Faculty & Staff Forms page.

Look under the heading Data and Surveys.

  • Use the Data Request Form if you need data. Be as specific as possible about the data you need, the format, and how it will be used to increase the likelihood that what you get will be what you want/need.
  • Some data is available on the Institutional Research page so you may want to check there before submitting a data request.
  • Use the Survey Design Form if you are creating a survey from scratch.
  • The Schedule a Survey Form is used when there is a pre-existing survey. This will help prevent the same people from getting multiple survey requests at the same time - and thus increase survey response rates for each survey.
  • Survey Design Basics has useful reference material if you are designing a new survey.
