Changes in Food Service at Toledo Campus

The following message was sent to students by President Wajert. If you encounter students who have questions about the change in food service at the Toledo campus please direct them to form in the email. There are no changes in Youngstown.

Dear Students:

You may have heard that changes will be happening with food service on the Toledo Mercy College campus. I want to provide you with the most up-to-date information.
To better meet the needs of our students, when they are on campus, we will transition to a Market C concept in the new year. In order to ensure a seamless transition, the current café will remain open until the Market C opens.
The new Market C will be conveniently located in the Jefferson Lobby. Market C provides a variety of food options, and best of all, it will be available 24/7 to meet the needs of our students and faculty. This better supports food service for evening and weekend programs, which has been a consistent feedback item.
Menu offerings will include the exclusive Market Choice line of sandwiches and wraps, gourmet salads, contemporary meals, premium hot and cold beverages, candy, snacks, and an array of other selections in addition to toasters, coffee machines, and microwaves. The Market C will include a feedback area where comments and suggestions for the future will be collected. Customers at the self-serve market will be able to pay with credit/debit cards.
At this time, there are no plans for the existing cafeteria space, and the area will stay open for group or individual needs. We remain committed to ensuring studying space for our students and we will continue to evolve seating needs at the college.
If you have any questions please complete the following form, and your concerns will be addressed promptly.

Frequently Asked Questions

When will the new Market C in the Jefferson Avenue lobby open?

Early in the spring semester in January.

How will the self-serve aspect work?

To access the Market C, individuals will need to swipe their Mercy College ID badge. Selected items will be scanned at a self-checkout, and payment will be made with a debit or credit card.

Will the people who work in the cafeteria lose their jobs?

No. All associates impacted by this change are being offered similar employment opportunities at other cafeteria locations.
