Post-Master's Certificate in Nursing Leadership

Program Overview

Mercy College of Ohio offers a Post-Master’s Certificate in Nursing Leadership, consisting of four specialty courses in nursing leadership (12 credit hours) that will prepare Master’s educated nurses to be leaders in healthcare organizations, and progress toward meeting the eligibility requirements of the American Organization of Nurse Executive Credentialing Center (AONE-CC), and American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN), to take the Certified Nurse Manager and Leader (CNML) examination.

Preparation for a role in nursing leadership allows nurses to develop skills in leadership that will support their advancement into nursing administration, management, or other leadership roles in a variety of practice environments. This professional development allows nurses to oversee the care coordination for patients, assess risks, develop quality improvement strategies, facilitate team communication, develop health policy and implement evidence-based solutions at the unit or systems level.
