Purpose

The purpose of Mercy College of Ohio’s Research Advisory Council is to promote inquiry through educating and mentoring staff, faculty, and students in their understanding of clinical research and evidence-based practice.

Responsibilities

The council meets monthly to meet the following institutional goals.

  • Ensure quality research by reviewing all research proposals prior to Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions.
  • Mentor and support students and faculty conducting research.
  • Seek opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration in conducting research and ensuring evidence-based, quality patient care.
  • Assist in the dissemination of research results.
  • Support professional growth and advancement.
  • Encourage and support research through fundraising and grant writing.

Mercy College of Ohio is affiliated with Bon Secours Mercy Health (BSMH) Research Participation Protection Program. RP3 is responsible for the Institutional Review Board.
