News from the Enrollment Division

Hope that your Fall semester is going well. Here are a few updates from the Enrollment Division:

The A-133 Audit is complete for this year and again we have zero findings! Congratulations to Julie Leslie, Financial Aid Director and her team for their excellent work again this year!!

We have received our cohort default rate (the percentage of a school's borrowers in the US who enter repayment on certain loans during a federal fiscal year and default prior to the end of the next one to two fiscal years) for 2016. Mercy College’s rate is 5.6%! This is below the National and state rates and both the Public and Private 4 year institutions! Mercy students graduate and become employed in healthcare enabling them to repay their loans!

The 2020 FASFA is now open for students to apply for Financial Aid for the upcoming year. This is important to students and the health of the College as over 85% of our students receive some form of Financial Aid.

The Fall Open House is Saturday, November 2, from 10 am to noon in room 3302/04. Please encourage any prospective students to attend and learn more about our programs and offerings. Thank you to all the faculty and staff who will be at Open House serving our future students and their families! The Admissions team appreciates your support!

The Strategic Enrollment Committee (SEC) has been meeting bi weekly reviewing data and working to develop the Strategic Enrollment Plan for the College. The goal of the SEC is to have a draft ready for review by the end of January 2020.

Admissions and Marketing have been working for the past several months to develop an automated marketing system for prospective students. The Admission Officers will begin testing Pathfinder in the next week. Amy Mergen, Director of Enrollment, and Denise Hudgin, Director of Communication, will be offering sessions in the next couple of weeks for anyone interested in learning more about Pathfinder and how it will work in the recruitment process.

The Admission Officers continue to be busy recruiting students, visiting high schools in the area and attending college fairs to recruit students for 2020.

If you have questions regarding this information, please do not hesitate to reach out to any of the Enrollment Directors, the Enrollment team or myself. We are always happy to answer your questions and provide updates on recruitment.

Have a good fall break!

The new 2020–21 FAFSA form is here! To begin your application, select the “START HERE” button on the FAFSA homepage (www.fafsa.gov) or download the myStudentAid app for iOS and Android. Customers who are using an Apple device (mobile and/or desktop) may encounter errors on some FAFSA fields if the “smart punctuation” feature is enabled.
