Faculty & Staff Newsletter

November 2, 2021

I want to provide an update about Mercy College's involvement with Guild Education. Bon Secours Mercy Health has partnered with Guild Education to provide tuition assistance for its employees.

Beginning in January, Guild Education will provide support to the ministry in administering the tuition benefit for BSMH employees. You can find out more about Guild at: or on BSMH Central.

Guild Education is currently collaborating with Mercy College of Ohio to expedite the partnering process so that we are included in their catalog of program offerings. Members of college administration and staff are meeting with Guild Education on a weekly basis to complete this project as quickly as possible. Mercy College has provided a listing of all program offerings to Guild Education.

The Mercy College/Guild contract was sent to us last week that outlines the process for Mercy College and Guild Education to work collaboratively. We are currently reviewing the contract with local legal counsel whom we are meeting with again on November 15, 2021.

The College and Guild Education are moving as quickly as possible to ensure that Mercy College is a primary educational partner for BSMH.

We are moving through the process for Mercy College to be a partner with Guild Education as quickly as possible. The plan is to be part of the educational catalog no later than January 2022.

If you have any questions, please submit them to Denise Hudgin at Thanks so much for your patience and understanding, and I will keep providing updates as we continue through this process.

PTO Enhancements Announcement

Submitted by Sherri Boggs

Important update regarding PTO (Paid Time Off)

For non-exempt (hourly) associates: you have a chance to cash out up to 100 hours, an increase of 20 hours versus last year, as long as you maintain a PTO balance of at least 40 hours. An email will be sent to you with directions on how to submit a request to cash out your PTO. The request must be submitted between Nov. 1-19. In addition, you can carry over up to 160 hours, an increase of 40 hours versus last year, of unused PTO into 2022. No action is required as this will happen automatically at the end of the year if there is unused PTO in your bank.

For exempt (salaried) associates: you can carry over up to 80 hours of unused frontloaded PTO into 2022. No action is required. This transfer of unused PTO will happen in February after regular frontloaded hours are added.
If you have questions or need further assistance please call the Employee Service Center at 877-692-7780.
