A Message from President Wajert

Congratulations on a successful year at Mercy College. This year has included many twists and turns, and we have many accomplishments:

* Mercy College celebrates the 2019 graduates! There were 208 graduates in Toledo on Friday, May 3, 2019 and there are 42 candidates in Youngstown on Monday, May 6, 2019.

* Planning for the PA program is underway and we are working diligently to prepare for all accreditation reports and visits. The goal is to enroll the first class in May 2021.

* Enrollment continues to remain steady at the College, and the goal is to enroll at least the same numbers as 2018.

The Dual Degree Program agreement with BGSU is nearing finalization, and key components will be shared when all approvals and signatures are obtained.

Have a happy and safe summer! We will see you in fall. The Mercy College Professional Development days are Wednesday, August 21 and Thursday, August 22 at the Toledo Zoo Malawi Center.

At that time we will provide more updates and share new and exciting things for the fall including the CEO-a-Gram - which will allow for faculty and staff to provide comments, thoughts, etc. directly to me in an anonymous forum.

Dr. Susan Wajert
President

Denim Day Update

Submitted by Leslie Erwin

Thank you so much to all Toledo faculty and staff who participated in the 2019 Denim Day! The College will be donating over $200 in cash and gift cards to the YWCA Hope Center as a result of your generosity. We significantly increased our amount of donations from last year. The top contributors, by a slim margin, were the staff in Student Affairs and the Library. Thanks again for helping raise awareness of sexual violence and providing support and resources for local victims.

SAAM 2019 Wrap Up

Submitted by Leslie Erwin

CHW SAAM Table and Resources

Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) is coming to a close this week. Huge thanks to all in our campus community who were involved in SAAM activities and events throughout the month of April. There were a variety of happenings in both Toledo and Youngstown, including Wear Teal Day, Sammies (sandwiches) for SAAM, Denim Day, resource tables and presentations hosted by Campus Advocates from local rape crisis centers, Community Health Worker student educational display and giveaways (pictured), and the Clothesline Project. Students were also invited to participate in the Campus Climate Survey, which provides us with valuable information for awareness, prevention and response planning for the entire campus community. SAAM reminds us that IT'S ON US to act with care and compassion...thanks so much for another great month of awareness and positive action to combat sexual violence. If you are interested in incorporating any SAAM events into your curriculum in the 2019-20 academic year, please contact the Title IX Coordinators at titleix@mercycollege.edu.
