News from Admissions
As high school visits have ended, the admissions department continues with other recruitment events over the summer. We are focusing on community college relationships and recruitment, hospital recruitment and preparing for the Fall 22 recruitment season.
We will be hosting two Healthcare Worker Wednesday sessions this summer on June 15 and July 27. Currently, there are 120 RSVPs for the June 15 event.
Also, we will be hosting two in-person information sessions that will focus on the land-based nursing programs. on June 22 and July 21 in the Hanson Learning Commons. A nursing program representative will provide a presentation, along with a presentation from BSMH Talent and Acquisition about Guild benefits for associates. We will end the information session with a tour of the Nursing skills lab.
As we continue developing plans for Fall recruitment, we also are currently working with BSMH to develop a shadowing event for high school students at our ministry hospitals and will include time at Mercy College for each session.
We are also working to establish a College Credit Plus program at Mercy College. College Credit Plus (CCP) is Ohio’s dual enrollment program that provides students in grades 7-12 the opportunity to earn college and high school credits at the same time by taking courses from Ohio colleges or universities. We anticipate having high school students through CCP on campus for SU/FA 2023.
