Commencement
It is with a sad and heavy heart that commencement is moving to the virtual ceremony. This is based on the stay-home-advisory as well as the increasing number of COVID cases and rising number of hospitalizations along with those cases that are more serious. This decision was made to protect the health and well-being of the graduates and their loved ones along with the greater Mercy College Community. We sincerely appreciate your support and understanding as the pandemic has surged over the last several weeks with no indication of slowing down.
Please continue to be safe and well as we complete the semester. Next week is exam week, and the Mercy College Community would like to wish each student the very best as you prepare for final exams.
We will continue to be Mercy Strong as we move forward into this Holiday season.
Thanks so much again for everyone’s support and understanding.
Spring to Fall Persistence Rate Highest in Six Academic Years
Submitted by Mary Bergs
The Spring 2020 to Fall 2020 persistence rate was 88%. The last time Mercy College had a Spring to Fall persistence rate that high was in 2014.
Dr. Wajert’s response to the news: “This is GREAT 😊 news. Congratulations to everyone and to your teams for all the work that went into retaining our students from spring to fall. This is an indication of how everyone can work together to achieve great results even in the most difficult of times.”
FYI: “Retention” is for year to year calculations. “Persistence” is for semester to semester calculations.
Thank you for supporting our students!
