Enrollment Management Update and News

Thanks to all who participated in the Open House this past Saturday, April 6. Your participation is definitely appreciated by the entire Enrollment Team!

Admissions:

1. The Admission Team continues to recruit new students for both the summer and fall semesters. The target number of new students for both semesters is a total of 520. At this time, we are trending ahead in the number of applicants, accepted, and deposited students for both summer and fall compared to last year.
2. The Admission Office continues to work with the Biology department on activities to bring high school students to campus. Most recently we have had visits by St. Ursula Academy in Toledo and Bowling Green High School in Bowling Green.

Open House dates for 2019-20

The Open House dates have been confirmed for the 2019-20 academic year. Please mark your calendar!
Saturday, November 2, 2019
Saturday, February 29, 2020
Saturday, April 25, 2020

Please note that when we are selecting these dates we are continuously reviewing the calendars of the schools in Northwest Ohio to try to minimize conflicts. This includes checking ACT and SAT test dates.

Nurses Week: Nurses Week will be celebrated throughout Mercy Health, May 6 - 10. Mercy College is providing 6 $1500 scholarships to Mercy Health Nurses who are currently enrolled or anticipating enrollment (in Summer or Fall of 2019) in the RN-BSN or MSN programs. Nurses are submitting an application that will be reviewed by a team and the 6 recipients selected. Questions can be directed to either Mary Kay Meyer or Jessica Coombs.

Financial Aid: 450 students applied for scholarships this year - a record number! The Scholarship Committee met on Friday, March 29 and awarded 175 students, both new and continuing, with scholarships. Financial Aid is now busy awarding those scholarships. A big shout out to the wonderful work of the Scholarship Committee: Julie Leslie, Dr. Tamam Baiz, Dr. Sung Chun, Darnell LaRosa, Kirsten Berlan, Kristen Porter, Bev Miller, and Lori Edgeworth! They spent an entire day working on this process and it is very much appreciated!

Marketing and Communication: In an effort to capture all of the information needed for calendar entries we are implementing a form for all calendar submissions. This enables multiple people to add the entry and provides a database of all submissions. Please use this form as items emailed will no longer be accepted. Calendar events are used across the new website in different ways such as featured events, targeted event pages, etc. Please submit your events to ensure constituencies are aware of what's happening at the College. The form is available at https://mercycollege.edu/forms/calendar-entry-request and from the Faculty and Staff Forms page.

These are the highlights of what is presently happening in Enrollment Management. If you would like to have more detail or have further questions please do not hesitate to reach out to any of the Enrollment Team. We are always happy to provide an update and assist.
