Mercy College Announces Plans for Fall Semester
Transcript of Video:
I'm Sue Wajert, President of Mercy College of Ohio.
It is a pleasure to address the Mercy College Community and new students and their families.
As you are aware, we have encountered challenging and unprecedented times during the last several months due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I hope that you and your family are staying safe.
Updates and COVID-related messages are being sent by email and posted at mercycollege.edu/covid19. Please continue to read your emails since it is how updates will be shared. There will also be information from other areas on campus.
I'm committed to providing you with information in a timely and transparent manner. The COVID-19 pandemic has forced all of us to be flexible, however I want to reduce any sudden changes in your learning and to plan for the fall semester.
Now, looking forward to the fall semester, the most current plans are that our fully online undergraduate and graduate programs will remain unchanged. These include:
Health Information Technology
RN to BSN
RN to MSN
Master of Health Administration
Master of Science in Nursing
There will, however, be changes in the programs that Mercy College usually offers in the face-to-face format. These include Biology
Community Health Worker
EMT and Paramedic
Nursing prelicensure programs
and Radiologic Technology
These programs will have a hybrid format with online lectures, SUPPLEMENTED with face-to-face meetings that may include examinations, labs, and other activities as determined by the academic program. More information will be provided to current and newly enrolled students no later than Friday, August 14th, with classes beginning on Monday, August 24th.
There is also a change in the academic calendar. Like many other colleges and universities, Mercy College will include fall break as course days and students will not return to campus after Thanksgiving break. The top priority is to protect the health and well-being of everyone. The College will make adjustments as needed. All student support services continue to be available to all students.
We are delighted you are part of or will be joining the Mercy College community. Be assured we are making every effort to ensure your safety and that you have a quality educational experience. We continue to live and learn by our values of compassion, excellence, human dignity, justice, sacredness of life, and service.
Please be safe, stay well, and have a wonderful summer.
